The key elements of a Robotic Welding System |
|
|
|
Industrial robots systems are available in various sizes with different number of axes and
configurations. They are either -off the shelf - or custom designed systems and therefore will have different working envelopes (reachable space). |
|
|
|
A typical system always consists of: |
|
. |
The robot with 6 (old robots only 5) NC robot axes. |
more |
. |
Up to 3 additional NC global axes to enlarge the working envelope of the robot axes. |
more |
. |
Material handling equipment with one or more manipulators to manipulate (turn and swivel) the workpiece
to the proper welding position. |
more |
. |
A control cabinet which houses the necessary electrical and electronic devices. |
more |
. |
Power source(s), wire feeder and dereeling system |
more |
. |
Tooling and fixtures to mount the workpieces onto the manipulator. |
more |
. |
Sensory equipment to optimise TCP positioning. |
